Echmiadzin Cathedral-Memorial Complex of Sardarapat-State Ethnogrphic Museum
Second day we start our 4 day trip with the most significant destinations in Armenia. Armenians are the first nation in the world to adopt Christianity as a State Religion. Echmiadzin is the center of the Armenian Church. It is where the Catholicos Of All Armenians lives, and the location of the Ejmiatsin Cathedral. The main church structure is pretty large, however the majority of the interior is dedicated to uses other than worship and the area you enter is much smaller than the size of the entire complex. Here we also visit the Museum of Echmiadzin. For the purpose of storing the relics and gifts to Armenian Church three more buildings were added to the cathedral in 1869. They are used as the temple's museum which was open in 1955. The next step is the huge Memorial Complex in Armenia. It is the Memorial Complex of Sardarapat with the State Ethnographic Museum of Armenia. It is a must visit for anyone interested in not only the modern history of Armenian people, but also for those who are eager to see numerous interesting samples dating to the ancient period. After walking through the Sardarapat memorial copmlex we continue our way to another region in Armenia Aragatsotn region. In the village Byurakan we check-in a wonderful hotel. In the evening we go to one of the telescopes of the observatory in Byurakan to explore the night sky.
Byurakan Astrophisical Abservatory-Viktor Hambardzumyan House-Museum-Church of St Mesrop Mashtoc-Armenian Alphabet Monument
The third day we start with new science adventure in Byurakan visiting the 2,6 metre telescope, the highest one in the region. At the observatory five observational instruments are installed the larger ones being 2.6 m Cassegrain telescope and 1m Schmidt telescope.The architectural ensemble of the observatory which consists of two - the functional part containing the telescope towers, administrative and laboratory buildings, conference hall, guest house, etc and the campus is designed by the famous Armenian architect Samvel Safarian. Being in the birthplace of the akward academician Victor Hambartsumyan we Ա-visit the house-museum of V.Hambartsumyan. After it we visit the church of Saint Mesrop Mashtoc in Oshakan.Oshakan Church was built in 5 AD. It’s located in Oshakan village (only 25 km away from the capital city Yerevan), Aragatsotn region. The tour in the burrial place of our alphabet creator can not be complete without visiting the park of the armenian alphabet.Armenian alphabet monument is located in the village of Artashavan, at the east side bottom of Mt. Aragats. It was erected in 2005 to the 1600 anniversary of creation of the Armenian alphabet by the design of the famous Armenian architect Jim Torosyan. The monument is an interesting demonstration of the stone carvings of 39 Armenian letters. Finishing our trip in Aragatsotn region we return Yerevan and stay in hotel.
Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum-Republic Square of Armenia-Armenian National Academic theatre of opera and ballet after Alexander Spendiaryan
Our fourth day trip starts with a city tour in Yerevan which is one of the ancient capitals in the world and has a big amount of historical cultural, musical and other art buildings and centers. Yerevan is a dynamic city with bust traffic. The buisines centeres, ministries, museums, shops, schools, colages ,universities, are full of working studying people. Armenians are hospitable and kind, so every guest in Armenia is considered an important person. At first in Yerevan we visit the Museum Archaelogical Preserve of Erebuni. Erebuni Fortress also known as Arin Berd is a fortified city from the ancient kingdom of Urartu, located in what is present-day Yerevan, Armenia. It was one of several fortresses built along the northern Urartu border and was one of the most important political, economic and cultural centers of the vast kingdom. The name Yerevan itself is derived from Erebuni. After observing the rich heritage of Yerevan, we go to admire the architectural beauty of the Republic Square of Armenia the project of which was created by an architect Alexander Tamanyan. Our exploring trip will end by watching a nice opera performed in the Armenian National Academy of Opera and Ballet After Alexander Spendiaryan. Then we go to hotel.
The last day our guests check out the hotel and go to airport of Zvartnots.
